Its a real surprise that New York-based dub collective Easy Star All-Stars' 'Radiodread' - a collection of reggae versions of Radiohead's OK Computer works so well.
What could easily have been cringe worthy turns out quite the opposite with Thom Yorke's songs adapting to reggae interpretations really well, all delivered by an excellent collection of guest reggae vocalists.
Easy Star All-Stars' rose to fame via their reggae interpretations of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (Dub Side of the Moon) which became a bona fide classic.
For their follow-up, they tackled OK Computer, which is either extremely impetuous, or a cunning attempt to reach out to the art rockers' dedicated fanbase. Either way, it works surprisingly well - from the soulful reworking of 'Karma Police', right through to a Toots & the Maytals-inspired cover of 'Let Down' and a dread skit of 'Fitter Happier'.
