Christoph El Truento returns with a repress of two of the finest outernational reggae and dub records to emerge from the Antipodes: Peace Maker Dub (2019) and Dubs From The Neighbourhood (2024). In a testament to the purity of Christoph’s musical vision, Peace Maker Dub and Dubs From The Neighbourhood have been celebrated by a rich array of specialist record stores and taste-making DJs, including Lion Vibes, Dubwise Vinyl, Dubstore, Mr. Scru, Jeremy Sole, Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Kevin Martin aka The Bug, Dubhead, Stinky Jim, and Steve Barker.
Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, the Aotearoa producer and DJ’s playfully childlike sensibilities and dreamy, mystical sound worlds are the product of a lifetime spent studying Jamaican greats like Lee “Scratch” Perry, King Tubby, and Keith Hudson while honing his songwriting, production and engineering skills. Peace Maker Dub was the first culmination of these refined skills. Released digitally in 2019, and with a limited vinyl run by Haymaker Records in June 2024, it is now back by popular demand with a colour edit on the cover.
The highly acclaimed follow-up, Dubs From The Neighbourhood, has seen multiple pressings, each with a unique colour scheme. The forthcoming palette will be arriving right on time for autumn in Aotearoa.
